Dr. Milan K. Sadan is working on developing materials for lithium and post-lithium-ion batteries (Lithium-sulfur batteries, Sodium-ion batteries, room temperature sodium sulfur batteries, potassium ion batteries). He graduated Ph.D. from Gyeongsang National University in 2020 in Material Science and Engineering. Then he continued his work as a Senior Researcher at the Research Institute of Green Energy Technology. He is now working as a Research Associate at the University of Sheffield under the Nextrode project. Dr. Milan is the assistant editor of Materials Today Communication and an ECR Expert in Oxford Open Energy. Additionally, he is a reviewer board member in RSC Advances and Batteries.

Magnus S. Magnusson, Ph.D., Emeritus Research Professor, founder, and director of the Human Behavior Laboratory (HDL.hi.is), University of Iceland. Author of the T-pattern, T-string, and T-system model and the corresponding detection algorithms and software THEMETM (PatternVision.com), initially focusing on the real-time organization of behavior. Co-directed DNA analysis. Numerous papers, talks, and keynotes in ethology, neuroscience, mathematics, religion, proteomics, mass spectrometry, A.I., robotics, and nanoscience. Deputy Director 1983-1988 in Museum of Mankind, National Museum of Natural History, Paris. Repeatedly invited Professor at the University of Paris, V, VIII, and XIII in psychology and the biology of behavior. Now works informal collaboration between 32 European and American universities was initiated in 1995 at the University Rene Descartes of Paris V, Sorbonne, based on “Magnusson’s analytical model”.

Takashiro AKITSU, Ph.D. is a Full Professor for the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science Division II at Tokyo University of Science. He completed his undergraduate school training (chemistry) at Osaka University, Japan, and his graduate school training (physical & inorganic chemistry, especially coordination, crystal, and bioinorganic chemistry) at Osaka University (Ph.D. 2000). After Keio University and Stanford University, He moved to the current affiliation in 2008. Dr. Akitsu has published up to about 180 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has had posters presented at the international level. He has been a peer reviewer of many journals and acted as an organizing committee of several international conferences.

Ivan Bozovic received his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from Belgrade University, Yugoslavia, where he was later elected a professor and the Physics Department Head. After moving to the USA in 1985 he worked at Stanford University, the Varian Research Center in Palo Alto, California, and in Oxxel, Bremen, Germany. Since 2003, he is the MBE Group Leader at Brookhaven National Laboratory, and since 2014 also an Adjunct Professor of Applied Physics at Yale University. He is a Member of the European Academy of Sciences, a Foreign Member of the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts, a Fellow of APS, and a Fellow of SPIE. He received the Bernd Matthias Prize for Superconducting Materials, SPIE Technology Award, the M. Jaric Prize, the BNL Science, and Technology Prize, was Max Planck and Van der Waals Lecturer, and is a Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation PI. His research interests include basic physics of condensed states of matter, novel electronic phenomena including unconventional superconductivity, innovative methods of thin-film synthesis and characterization, and nano-scale physics. He has published 11 research monographs and over 290 research papers, including 30 in Science and Nature journals.

Biophysics and Materials Engineering

Matthew Tirrell is the Founding Pritzker Director of the Institute for Molecular Engineering (IME) at The University of Chicago. His personal research specializes in the manipulation and measurement of polymer surface properties. Tirrell’s work has provided new insight into phenomena such as adhesion, friction, and biocompatibility, and contributed to the development of new materials based on self-assembly of synthetic and bio-inspired materials. Tirrell also serves as Deputy Laboratory Director for Science at Argonne National Laboratory. He is responsible for integrating the laboratory’s research and development efforts and science and technology capabilities. He develops and drives strategy to support integrated teams across disciplines in support of Argonne’s strategic initiatives. Before becoming founding director of the IME in 2011, Tirrell served as the Arnold and Barbara Silverman Professor and chair of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and as professor of materials science and engineering and chemical engineering and faculty scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Prior to that, he was dean of engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara for 10 years. Tirrell began his academic career at the University of Minnesota as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering and later became head of the department. Tirrell received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Northwestern University and his Ph.D. in polymer science and engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He has received many honors, including the Polymer Physics Prize of the American Physical Society and election to the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences

DR. ALAIN L. FYMAT, Ph.D. is a medical-physical scientist and an educator. He is the current President/CEO and Professor at the International Institute of Medicine & Science with a previous appointment as EVP/COO and Professor at the Weil Institute of Critical Care Medicine, California, U.S.A. He was formerly a Professor of Radiology, Radiological Sciences, Radiation Oncology, Critical Care Medicine, and Physics at several U.S. and European Universities. Earlier, he was Deputy Director (Western Region) of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Office of Research Oversight). At the Loma Linda Veterans Affairs Medical Center, he was Scientific Director of Radiology, Director of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center, and, for a time, Acting Chair of Radiology. Previously, he was also Director of the Division of Biomedical and Biobehavioral Research at the University of California at Los Angeles/Drew University of Medicine and Science. He is also Health Advisor to the American Heart & Stroke Association, Coachella Valley Division, California. He is a frequent Keynote Speaker and International Organizing Committee member at several international scientific conferences. He has lectured extensively in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Africa. He has published ~ 425 scholarly scientific publications and books. He is also Editor-in-Chief, Honorable Editor, or Editor of 54 scientific Journals. Dr. Fymat is a Board member of several institutions, a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, and a reviewer for the prestigious UNESCO Newton Prize, United Kingdom National Commission for UNESCO

Dr. Osman Adiguzel graduated from the Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received Ph.D.- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey. He studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post-doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and his studies focused on shape memory alloys. He worked as a research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University and shifted to Firat University in 1980. He became a professor in 1996, and he has been retired due to the age limit of 67; following academic life of 45 years. He published over 60 papers in international and national journals; He joined over 100 conferences and symposia at the international and national level as Plenary Speaker, Keynote Speaker, Invited speaker, speaker, or Poster presenter. He served as the program chair or conference chair/co-chair in some of these activities. In particular, he joined in last six years (2014 - 2019) over 60 conferences as Speaker, Keynote Speaker, and Conference Co-Chair organized by different companies in different countries. Additionally, he retired at the end of November 2019 and contributed with Keynote/Plenary Speeches to 12 Virtual/Webinar Conferences in the first year of his retirement, 2020. Dr. Adiguzel served as his directorate of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Firat University in 1999-2004. He supervised 5 Ph.D.- theses and 3 M.Sc theses. He is also a Technical committee member of many conferences. He received a certificate which is being awarded to him and his experimental group in recognition of the significant contribution of 2 patterns to the Powder Diffraction File – Release 2000. The ICDD (International Centre for Diffraction Data) also appreciates the cooperation of his group and interest in the Powder Diffraction File.

Dr. Mohamed TAHIRI is a Professor and Researcher of Innovation Chair holder 2010-2019 in University of Hassan II Casablanca, Morocco. His research interest is Chemistry, Bioenergy, Water and Environment Engineering, and Nanotechnology. He is the head of Innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship and Head of the organic Synthesis, Extraction and Valorization Laboratory, and Since January 2010, he’s been Chairholder of UNCHAIN-UH2C (University Chair on Innovation). As part of his TEMPUS-supported role, Mohamed TAHIRI has received extensive training in Europe on Innovation, Technology Transfer, Intellectual Property Rights, and innovation Management. He holds in his faculty a Bachelor's in sanitation management in urban areas. He’s conducting R&D in partnerships with various industries. Professor Mohamed TAHIRI is awarded Hassan II Prize on Environment in 2009 for his contribution to disseminating citizen eco-initiatives in Moroccan university. He published over 40 general and research articles, organized international meetings and conferences in Morocco (FIERTE Maroc 2007: International Conference on Renewable Energies and Water Technologies in partnership with commerce and navigation chamber of Almeria Spain; MENA Symposium on ‘’Environment analysis and economical evaluation, Marrakech 2009).

Dr. Nima Golsharifi's career has spanned nanotechnology research, technology startup leadership, and the scientific leadership of large companies. Over the past decade, Dr. Golsharifi has emerged as a recognized leader and innovator in energy storage and diamond electronics. Dr. Golsharifi's latest research has focused on the development of a novel self-charging battery known as a nanodiamond battery (NDB). In this, Dr. Golsharifi has been very successful. Dr. Golsharifi has been widely recognized for this work by researchers around the world. The diamond battery has been featured in several recognizable and well-regarded industry and popular news publications such as Aviation Today, Popular Mechanics, Aviation International News, New Atlas, and The Daily Mail. Under Dr. Golsharifi’s leadership, NDB, Inc. also won the Orano Startup International Call Grand Prize for its innovation in energy storage.

Ephraim Suhir is on the faculty of the Portland State University, Portland, OR, USA, Technical University, Vienna, Austria, and James Cook University, Queensland, Australia. He is also CEO of a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) ERS Co. in Los Altos, CA, USA, is a Foreign Full Member (Academician) of the National Academy of Engineering, Ukraine (he was born in that country); Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Society of Optical Engineers (SPIE), and the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS); Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), the Institute of Physics (IoP), UK, and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE); and Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Ephraim has authored 450+ publications (patents, technical papers, book chapters, books), presented numerous keynote and invited talks worldwide, and received many professional awards, including the 1996 Bell Laboratories Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) Award (for developing effective methods for predicting the reliability of complex structures used in AT&T and Lucent Technologies products), and 2004 ASME Worcester Reed Warner Medal (for outstanding contributions to the permanent literature of engineering and laying the foundation of a new discipline (Structural Analysis of Electronic Systems). Ephraim is the third Russian American, after S. Timoshenko and I. Sikorsky, who received this prestigious award. His most recent awards are the 2019 IEEE Electronic Packaging Society (EPS) Field award for seminal contributions to mechanical reliability engineering and modeling of electronic and photonic packages and systems and the 2019 Int. Microelectronic Packaging Society (IMAPS) Lifetime Achievement Award for making an exceptional, visible, and sustained impact on the microelectronics packaging industry and technology.
